A Bit of History

The Western Wake Artists Studio Tour began in March 2009 as a united effort by 26 artists with the desire to raise public awareness about fine art being created in Western Wake County.  The tour attracted approximately 400 visitors to studios in seven towns.

In April 2010 two public exhibitions, one at the Cary Chamber of Commerce and one at the Halle Art Center in Apex, preceded the tour, providing the WWAST artists with venues to show their works as a group. Visitors discovered new work and met the artists in a friendly environment. Thanks to this informal opportunity, visitors could plan in advance which studios were of particular interest to them.

So check out the map and plan to take a slow drive around Western Wake and discover some art along the way.
