Business: Cary Chamber Planning Conference Next Week
Cary, NC – The Cary Chamber of Commerce is having its annual Planning Conference July 19-20, 2012 in Southern Pines. This is a key event for businesses that want to be connected and have a voice in Cary.
The Importance of the Chamber
What does the Chamber do? Well, in the last 18 months, the Cary Chamber has helped attract over $66.5 million in new capital investment from projects which will ultimately lead to the creation of more than 1800 new jobs.
The Chamber provides a center for the Cary business community. The Chamber and it’s members lobby the State Legislature on behalf of Cary business, support education initiatives in town and host distinguished speakers including economist Michael Walden and Senator Richard Burr.
2013 Planning Conference
The 2013 Chamber Planning Conference takes place over two days at Mid-Pines Inn, about an hour south of Cary.
Speakers include:

- Town Manager Ben Shivar
- Downtown Manager Ed Gawf
- Mark Vitner, Managing Director & Senior Economist at Wells Fargo Bank
- David Cooke, Wake County Manager
- Paul Coble, Chair – Wake County Commissioners
- Ted Abernathy, Southern Growth Policies Board
The conference will also include breakout and planning sessions. There’s also a possibility attendees might get a chance to catch a round of golf.
