The TBJ story used census data from 2010 and 2011 to determine the fastest growing municipalities in North Carolina. Here are the results:
- Cary – 3.24%
- Raleigh – 3.11%
- Charlotte – 2.69%
- Concord – 1.94%
- Greenville – 1.72%
- Wilmington – 1.71%
- Fayetteville – 1.69%
- Greensboro – 1.39%
- Durham – 1.26%

The list above is based on percentage population growth between April 2010 and April 2011.
Based on the total number of people added to each municipality, Charlotte ranks first with 19,663. Cary comes in fourth by that metric, with 4,384 new residents.
On the lighter side…
With all this growth (like all cities), we still have “boosters” (slang) living in a motel to watch for when buying stuff online.

We’ll get to the booster story tomorrow. Good work by Cary PD, btw. In the meantime, enjoy the view from the top. Just don’t buy anything online ;)
