Cary, NC – Technically, Cary is a town. But, in reality, it’s a small city teeming with possibilities. This weekend is no exception, according to the CaryCitizen Calendar of Events.

Big Thursday, September 20, 2012

Thursday has always been part of the weekend in our book. Or at least the gateway to the weekend.

This particular Thursday is especially eventful. Here are some highlights:

  • Healthcare Roundtable – 8 AM Cary Chamber of Commerce
  • Flu Shot Clinic – 10 AM – 6 PM at Ashworth Drugs.
  • What’s Up Downtown – Heart of Cary mixer at Unwine’d, corner of Chatham and Harrison. Starts at 5:30 PM.
  • Country Night at Seven O’Clock Rock – 6:30-9:00 PM. Free outdoor show with the Johnny Fulsom 4, downtown Cary
  • Elisabeth Von Trapp – Concert of secular and sacred music, plus a few tunes from The Sound of Music. First United Methodist Church, 117 South Academy Street. 7:00-9:00 PM.

  • Fall Produce at the Farmers Markets – Cary’s burgeoning Farmers Markets scene will be a cornucopia of fall produce. Visit the market nearest your house on Saturday morning: Western Wake Farmers Market, Downtown Cary Farmers Market, DJ’s Berry Patch and Waverly Place Farmers Market.
  • Save a Life 5k – Wake Med Soccer Park, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Walk for Inclusiveness – Kids Together Playground in Marla Dorrel Park in Cary. 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM
  • RailHawks Last Regular Season Game – The ‘Hawks are in the playoffs, but they have one last piece of business to finish off before the post-season: the Tampa Bay Rowdies. 7:00 PM at Wake Med Soccer Park.

Next Week

Looking ahead to next week, the Technology Task Force has an open meeting next Tuesday evening at Town Hall.

And, Wednesday-Sunday is the Cary Plaza Carnival, presented by Dorcas Ministries.
