Cary Weekend: Art Loop, Halloween, and Soktoberfest
Cary, NC — This weekend in Cary, gear up for Halloween with all the fun festivals and events that our town has to offer. And after the big night, welcome the month of November with community programs and performances.

The Park West Village Fall Festival starts at 4 pm and continues until 8 on Thursday evening. Families can trick-or-treat in the center and enjoy a bounce house and treats before they settle in to watch an outdoor screening of Monsters, Inc.
For a more intense pre-Halloween scare, visit the Cary Theater at 7 pm to watch Nosferatu, a terrifying silent film, accompanied by spooky music from the Mallarme Chamber Players.

Friday, October 31, 2014 – Halloween!
Tired of staying home and trick-or treating around your neighborhood?
The Final Friday Cary Art Loop continues this month from 6 pm-9 pm as the galleries in Ashworth Village and beyond open their doors for citizens to peruse artwork from local artists. This month, the Village Art Circle gallery will have a special opening of a juried show with music, food, and wine.
Children (and adults) of all ages are invited to trick-or-treat indoors at Cary Towne Center from 6 pm-8 pm as part of their annual Safe-N-Sane Halloween Celebration. Other activities will be there as well–don’t forget your costume!
Make time to visit the Halloween parties hosted by many Cary bars and restaurants on Halloween. Some of the locations include The Corner Tavern & Grill, Doherty’s Irish Pub, Back in the Day Cafe, and UnVined, where for $15, guests can enjoy wine and appetizers while participating in a Murder Mystery game.

Swing by Waverly Place from 8 am-11 am to check out some amazing automobiles with the Cars & Coffee group. They meet the first Saturday of every month.
Also, be sure to check out the 56th annual Cary Band Day, featuring 40 bands from all over NC and VA. 4,000 students will showcase their best marching band performances all day from 11:30 am-10:30 pm. At the WakeMed Soccer Park, the Carolina Railhawks will be hosting their third annual pre-game Homebrew Soktoberfest from 5:30 pm-10:30 pm. There will be live music and beer samples up for grabs.
The Triangle Wind Ensemble will present “Luminescence” at the Cary Arts Center from 7:30 pm-8:30. Bursts of musical energy and light will be created by the sounds of 55 brass, wind, and percussion players to make for one brilliant experience.

An Autumn Leaf Celebration will take place at Saint Francis United Methodist Church from 12 pm-4pm. The event is free and provides food, fun, and fellowship for all ages.

Across the Triangle
On Thursday from 11:30 am-12:30 pm, Secretary of State Elaine Marshall will be speaking at the Democratic Women of Wake County Luncheon. Visitors are welcome, and although reservations are required for the lunch, there is no cost to attend the meeting.
A Shopping SPREE! will take place at the Raleigh Convention Center Thursday-Sunday. The annual four-day shopping fundraiser showcases the most recent trends while benefiting the Junior League of Raleigh. The event is the perfect place to get a head start on your holiday shopping.
On Halloween night, The Durham Pub Crawl & Haunted Adventure walking tour takes guests through three of Durham’s hippest bars. Between each bar, you visit four haunted, ghost, and paranormal locations. A Halloween Costume Bar Crawl takes place in Raleigh as well.
