Fundraising Through Exercise

Orangetheory Fitness in Parkside Town Commons in West Cary is holding their fundraising workout on Saturday, February 16, 2019, with a focus on exercises that are good for the heart.

“Studies show exercising and movement for three to four hours a week helps lower BMI, cholesterol and benefits overall heart health, said Dana Wilson, regional fitness director for Orangetheory Fitness. “You can be a walker, you can be a jogger, you can be a runner.”

At Orangetheory, Wilson said they are focused on a total body workout so the fundraiser for the American Herat Association will also include upper body and core workouts.

“It will be half cardio, half strength training,” Wilson said.

Supporting Each Other’s Fitness

The fundraiser exercise class will include community members working out together and Wilson said that is an important feature that drastically increases results.

“If you feel the place you exercise is home and your friends are there, you are more likely to feel accountable and want to achieve your goals,” Wilson said. “We want everyone to leave Orangetheory feeling like they were successful.”

Wilson said the fitness programs there are meant for all levels and all people.

“We have people in their 70s come in and we have pro athletes come in,” Wilson said. “We want to help everyone live a more vibrant life.”

The fundraising exercise class takes place Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Orangetheory Fitness at 1204 Parkside Main St., starting at 10:30 AM.
