Concert Schedule Heats Up in Cary

Cary, NC- As the weather finally starts to warm up, the concert schedule at Booth Amphitheatre is heating up too.As you probably already know, Steve Miller is coming to town along with Gregg Allman next Wednesday, April 20 (story).  Management has been working hard all spring to round out the schedule with other acts that will be sure to please not only the residents of Cary, but attract patrons from the surrounding region.

Concert Line-Up:

  • American Celebration- Sunday, May 29th – featuring Cary Concert Singers and Triangle Wind Ensemble
  • Miranda Lambert- Friday, June 3rd. With Special Guests Josh Kelley & Ashton Shepherd
  • Boz Scaggs and Michael McDonald – Friday, July 15th. (Who could forget the “Lido Shuffle”?)
  • Huey Lewis & the News- Sunday, July 24th – (“Hip to Be Square”!)
  • Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith – Thursday, July 28th
  • Alison Kraus and Union Station – Thursday, August 11. Featuring Jerry Douglas.

Of course the NC Symphony makes their summer home in Cary’s Regency Park, returning under conductor William Henry Curry. They have been playing here since before there was a Booth Amphitheatre, back when Cary had a raised stage and a tent in what was once called Regency Amphitheatre (story).

Look for more additions to the schedule throughout the next month or so. The Regency Park season typically extends from early April through October. If you have never been to an event at Booth Amphitheatre, you are missing one of Cary’s true jewels. The concert stage is set amid 14 acres of woods beside Symphony Lake. Towards the back is the Crescent, which includes concessions and table seating. VIP reserved seating is located up front by the stage. But if you’re like me, you bring your own lawn chair, find a spot on the lawn and enjoy a show for about $40.

One of the best things about the amphitheatre, besides the excellent acoustics, is how easy it is to arrive on time and park, and then at the end of the evening to find your car and travel home.  No one-hour gridlock at Booth Amphitheatre!

Last year’s schedule included Sheryl Crow, Pat Benatar, Counting Crows, Styx, A Prairie Home Companion, Movies By Moonlight and much more – so stay tuned for additional schedule announcements as their calendar fills in.
