Cary, NC – After last week’s epic 61 weekend events, things have settled own a little in Cary. Slightly.
The Calendar this weekend features the Concert Singers of Cary performing Mozart and Salieri, a Giant Yard Sale at Davis Drive Middle and what promises to be some hilarious theater from the Cary Newcomers.
Mozart & Salieri
If you saw the movie Amadeus, you know the story – Salieri was the established master in Vienna and Mozart was the brash upstart.
The Genius and His Foe, this Sunday at the Carolina Theater in Durham, compares the two composers by performing both of their requiems on the same bill. The Concert Singers of Cary perform along with the Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle and professional soloists. More info: www.ConcertSingers.org
Giant Yard Sale
Odyssey of the Mind has put together a Giant Yard Sale at Davis Drive Middle School, this Saturday from 9-12. Proceeds benefit the Odyssey of the Mind team that is travelling to the National Finals in Maryland. Directions.
Newcomer Theater
If you enjoy laughing at women in their club pursuits, you’ll want to see a reader’s theater production about a committee meeting that floundered and fell into disarray.
Cary Newcomers presents its Script to Stage theater group in a production of Aurelia Womens League Flower and Garden Show Gala Planning Committee. It is a daunting title, but lots of fun, directed by Marjorie Megivern and starring Linda Palmer, Ellen Rose, Jerri Lisk, Elaine Dittmer and Cathy Bradley.
This Sunday, 3pm – 5pm at the West Regional Library in Cary.
