Cary NC Non-Profits Page

Cary, NC – Have you ever wanted to make a charitable donation but had difficulty finding information about non-profits in town? Or maybe you wanted to volunteer but couldn’t find centralized info about local charities?

Problem solved: Introducing the Non-Profit Page on CaryCitizen.

All Good in One Place

CaryCitizen, with the help of Special Assignments Editor Cindy Sinkez, has assembled a list of 39 (and counting) non-profits based in Cary or providing significant service in our town.

These are Service Non-Profits. You won’t find lobbying groups here or political action committees; these are organizations that give out food and clothing and books and support to people in need.

If you’re a Service Non-Profit in Cary and would like to be included in this page, please email Cindy Sinkez. Inclusion is at the discretion of the editor.

Some Interesting Stories

Right now, the Non-Profits Page is a list with links to each organization. In researching the page, quite a few interesting stories were revealed.

  • Oldest Service Group in Cary – Cary Masonic Lodge #198 may have that distinction. A history of the Lodge dates its first organization of members to 1858. Founding members included town father A.F. (Frank) Page.
  • Nationals – Cary has representation from all the major national charities including the Elks, Lions, Rotary Club and Kiwanis.
  • Locals – Cary also has some well-organized local non-profits including Dorcas Ministries, Lucy Daniels Center, Read and Feed and many others.
  • Arts – Cary is rich in non-profits that promote the arts including the Cary Players, the Cary Town Band, Cary Photographic Artists, Fine Arts League of Cary and Cary Visual Art.
  • Diversity – On the Cary NC Non-Profits Page, you’ll find NC Baptist Men, Hum Sub and NC Society of Hispanic Professionals.
