Cary, NC – This coming weekend, we want to highlight the Kids’ Bird Count at Marla Dorrel Park on Saturday.
Kid’s Bird Count
Every winter and spring, volunteers across America turn out to count the birds. This may seem like an astronomical task (it does to me), but enough data is gathered to extrapolate keys trends in the native bird population.
On Saturday, February 18, 2012, kids can take the lead. It’s Count the Birds at Kids Together Playground.
This free event runs from 9-10 AM. From KidsTogetherCary.org:
Gather at the shelter for bird walks as we identify birds by species and record the number of each that we see, then enjoy refreshments as we tally our results. Part of the national Great Backyard Bird Count.
Kids Together Playground is in Marla Dorrel Park, 111 Thurston Drive Cary, NC 27518.
