Cary, NC – This weekend brings diverse events to the Cary community including ChiliBrew Fest, Laugh & Wine at Chambers Arts, Cary Creative Center Grand Opening, an easter egg hunt and the return of pro basketball when the Cary Invasion tip-off against the Carolina Gladiators.
Friday: Zumbathon
Friday, from 6-8 pm is a Zumbathon to benefit research into ALS. Zumba fitness instructor Jenny Geska will lead a two-hour, heart-pumping United We Dance to Cure ALS™ Zumbathon charity event at Life Time Fitness. Proceeds benefit Augie’s Quest, a non-profit research initiative dedicated to finding treatments and cures for ALS. ALS , also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, is a progressive motor neurone disease that robs people of the ability to move their muscles.
Also Friday: The Cary Art Loop, Live Jazz at Unwine’d, and Rough Crossing by Tom Stoppard at F.A.T.E.

Saturday: 5K, Re-use, Laughter and More
This Saturday, March 31, 2012, may be the most eclectic day we’ve seen on the Calendar. Consider these events:
- 5K to fight Cystic Fibrosis
- Cary Creative Center Grand Opening (see story earlier this week)
- The Town’s Easter Egg Hunt
- Peppers ChiliBrew Fest at Booth Amphitheatre
- Laugh & Wine at Chambers Arts
- Stoppard’s Rough Crossing at F.A.T.E.

Sunday: The Return of the Cary Invasion
Our highlight this week is the Return of the Cary Invasion. No, it’s not a movie title. It’s Cary’s professional basketball team.
Last year, the team won the CBL championship title. The game is big, fast, physical and highly skilled, with elite college players and guys with experience in Europe and the NBA.
Tip off is at 7 PM on Coach Kay Yow Court in Herb Young Community Center.
