Cary, NC – Like the ketchup, Cary has 57 varieties of fun this weekend. There’s music, art, theater and, of course, the world-famous Cary Scavenger Hunt.

A pair of municipal events on Thursday give citizens a chance to see local leaders in action.

On Thursday morning, Breakfast with the Chief in Morrisville promises some up close and personal time with MPD Chief Ira Jones.

Thursday night is the regular meeting of Cary Town Council. Never been? It starts at 5:30 PM in Town Hall on Academy Street and is free and open to all. Drop by – who knows, maybe they’ll talk about chickens or bees. The next scheduled Town Council meeting is Thursday, September 27, 2012.

Friday September 14, 2012

Friday features a number of musical events, including the Cary Town Band at Sertoma Amphitheatre in Bond Park (free), bluegrass downtown (free), jazz and even karaoke. Something for every musical taste on what promises to be a perfect fall evening.

Saturday, September 15, 2012

Saturday is the world-famous Cary Scavenger Hunt. Did you know four teams will be driving brand-new Fiat 500’s equipped with Go-Pro video cameras? We’re looking forward to the movie of the mayhem from our friends at Hendrick Fiat.

Saturday night is a trio of musical events including “Pops in the Park,” Soul Picnic at Booth Amphitheatre and a new musical play at Cary Arts Center.

    Reader Kay Struffolino wrote to tell us that the Town Council meeting happened last week. The next one is Thurs 9/27/12. I guess that’s only 56 varieties of fun.
