Cary, NC  – We have a moderately busy weekend coming up in Cary, at least according to the Calendar of Events. The band Heart is coming to town. There’s a show at Cary Arts Center, a Health Fair, a Harry Potter event and more.

Thursday, October 11, 2012

The North Carolina State Fair starts on Thursday, just a stone’s throw from the town line over in Raleigh. This year’s theme is “A Bumper Crop of Fun.” The State Fair runs for ten days through October 21.

Friday, October 12, 2012

Friday night, try the Western Wake Studio Tour in downtown Apex.

The opening reception is at Halle Cultural Arts Center, 237 N. Salem St., Apex NC from 6-8 PM.

Also Friday: the opening of Liza and the Riddling Cave, a production by Applause Theatre at Cary Arts Center, plus an assortment of musical and literary events.

Saturday, October 13, 2012

The State Fair continues on Saturday (get there early). All of Cary’s many farm markets will be open in the morning (get your fall produce).

There’s a Health Fair and a Safety Fair, also on Saturday morning.

There’s a Harry Potter Halloween Party at Barnes & Noble and Liza and the Riddling Cave continues at Cary Arts Center.
