Rockin’ Cary New Year’s Eve 2012 Events

Cary, NC- 2013 is right around the corner, and somehow you didn’t plan or get invited to a party- never fear- there’s still time to have some fun. Here’s the CaryCitizen run-down of cool happenings here in town!

In Downtown Cary

The Matthews House– 317 west Chatham Street. Kick off the new year in style in Cary’s historic Matthews House. The evening features a catered buffet dinner with a cash bar, dancing with a DJ. Achampagne toast at midnight is follwoed by a breakfast buffet. Pricing is $75/ person . Black Tie optional- but dress to impress. Register by Dec 28 call 919- 467-1944

Havana Grill– 404 West Chatham Street- The fun gets started at 9 pm with party hats and noisemakers and a cash bar. DJ Havana Frank will get the party hopping leading up to a champagne toast at midnight. Pricing is $20/person which includes an appetizer and dessert buffet and a cash bar.

For The Athlete

Run In The New Year– with the Miracle League- Behind Cary Towne Center Mall. Meet up with Triangle-area runners and Miracle League enthusiasts for a one-of-a-kind celebration at the Run in the New Year (“R.I.T.N.Y.”).  Registered participants can choose from a 5k race or “fun run.” Runners count down the new year and take off at the stroke of midnight around a well-lit course at the Cary Towne Center Mall. The event features music, fireworks, free t-shirts, and more!  All proceeds benefit the Miracle League of the Triangle. Click here for more information or to register online.
Run a 5K or a 1 mile pricing is $15 and $25 and raises to $30 day of the event

Triangle Rock Club -102 Pheasant Wood Court, Morrisville. Keep the kids busy while you either get ready for your party or recover from your hangover. This indoor climbing facility will be open noon- 6pm on New Year’s Eve and 10am- 11 pm New Year’s Day.

The Polar Ice House– 1410 Buck Jones Road in Cary is another great place to either drop the kids or ring int he New Year as an active family. Open skate hours  1:00-4:00 & 7:15-9:15p on New Year’s Eve and 12:30-3:00 & 7:00-9:00 on New Years Day

Jellybeans– 1220 Buck Jones Road- New years party with dancing, skating and a midnight balloon drop. $13 advance tickets include skate rental and meal ticket. After Dec 23rd pricing goes up to $25. For kids 15 and under.

Swanky

The Umstead Hotel and Spa– Feel swanky at the Umstead while you dance to a 14 piece orchestra, The Deanna Jones Orchestra, a 14 piece ensemble playing a variety of Motown, Big Band productions as well as modern hits and classic party songs.  Tickets include an open bar of premium brand liquors, wine and beer to accompany the small plates cuisine. Party gets under way at 10pm. Pricing is $175/ person, and everyone must be 21 or older. Party goers can enjoy dinner beforehand at Heron’s and make reservations to stay overnight for additional fees.

Pubs

Doherty’s – 1979 High House Rd in Cornerstone Shopping Center. Listen to live music with the Screaming Wilhelms starting at 10pm.

Tribecca Tavern-500 Ledgestone Way in Stonecreek Shopping. Has live music by Band Together.

The Big Easy-231 Grande Heights Dr. at Harrison Pointe. Live DJ spinning music, and a special menu along with a champagne toast at midnight. Items include Oysters rockefeller, ham steak, black eyed peas, or a Filet Mignon.Pricing is a la carte.

Over the Border in Morrisville

Goel’s Plaza– 117 International Plaza, Morrisville. They boast the largest party in Eastern North Carolina and will be hosting their 9th annual New Year’s event with an Indian DJ and laser light show. Come dressed to impress as there will be dancing and dress competitions. reservations are accepted in advance, $20/ person and children under 42″ tall are free. Party starts at 8pm with a midnight champagne toast.

Ruckus Location at Park West Village- Chris Overstreet and Tino Gray used to be known as 2nd Hand Flapjack will provide live music throughout the evening. It has been  years since they last graced the stage together. Enjoy a champagne toast and shenanigans at midnight. The restaurant is offering special New Years menu to ensure your 2013 is a healthy, wealthy and wise one.

Cambria Suites-Near RDU Airport at 300 Airgate Drive Morrisville, Have a “Suite New Year” with their package that includes a one-night stay in a King Suite,  2 tickets to their New Year’s Eve Party, dancing, late night bistro fare from 8pm, champagne toast at midnight, and a New Year’s Day breakfast for two. Pricing is $159 per suite.
