Friends of Page Walker Seek Historic Photos

Page Walker seeks historic photosCary, NC – The Friends of the Page Walker Hotel, Cary’s defacto historical society, is seeking citizens’ assistance in locating old photos of Cary.

Friends of Page Walker Looking for Historical Photos

The Friends of Page Walker are conducting research for a photographic history book. They are looking for all types of historical photographs that will help tell our community’s story. Types of photos include, but are not limited to, images that depict Cary’s history in the following areas:

  • Education
  • Transportation
  • Community Celebrations
  • Local Landmarks (past and present)

Photos To Be Scanned

The organization stresses that they are not asking for donations, but rather looking for pictures to scan into the computer that potentially may be used in the book.

Even if the photos are not published in the book, they will become part of the Friends’ documentation of Cary’s history.

If You Have A Photo

Citizens who have photos they would like to share should contact info@friendsofpagewalker.org or Page-Walker Arts & History Center at (919) 460-4963.

Thanks, CaryCitizen, for this story (and very nice photo Hal!).

Everyone reading this, if you’ve got photos or know someone who does, please get in touch with us at the Friends of the Page-Walker (contact information at the end of the preceding story).

    And remember:
    – photos could be of people, places, things, events
    – photos need not be “ancient” to be historic (photos from the 1950s, 60s, 70s, 80s are a part of our history, too, and we need those!)
    – photos need not be of famous and well known people, places, things, events — your old family photos just might show important pieces of Cary’s history

    Thanks.
