Burlington Mini Maker Faire – Saturday August 17th from 10:00am to 6:00pm (EDT). A family-friendly festival of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker movement. Tickets are Free, Registering for a Ticket and bringing that ticket to the Faire enters you into a random drawing with a chance to win several different door prizes from our makers and sponsors.
2013 Startup Alley – August 27, 2013 from 3:30 PM TO 6:30 PM (EST) in Raleigh, NC. Are you an entrepreneur who wants to put your ideas in front of hundreds? Would you like to pitch your business to investors? The Chamber is partnering with HQ Raleigh (formerly HUB Raleigh) to present Startup Alley at this year’s Business Showcase. How does it work? IDEA Pitch – August 28, 2013 in Durham, NC. Have an idea or startup you want to pitch? Want to receive feedback and meet fellow entrepreneurs? This is the tech event for you! Join us once a quarter in the American Underground classroom on the American Tobacco Campus to meet the team and have the opportunity to pitch your business idea. We’re always interested to meet new entrepreneurs and learn about the companies they’re building. We welcome entrepreneurs across all industries. Attendance is free, but space is limited, so we ask that all attendees register in advance. Also, we ask that service providers not attend as these events are solely for entrepreneurs.

The inaugural NC DataPalooza is a two-part event, beginning with the NC DataJam competition at HUB Raleigh on April 22nd and culminating with a celebration in September. DataPalooza is an open-data competition sponsored by the White House that connects local experts, innovators, and entrepreneurs to relevant, clean data drawn from federal, state, and local resources. Datapalooza promises to the tech event of the fall in the Triangle.

Cary’s GREAT PUNKIN’ CHUCK is a mash up of science, back-yard technology and good clean fun hurling pumpkins with trebuchets at targets and for distance. Teams compete for prizes (and glory).
