Cary, NC — In this first week of October, highlights on the parade of Cary weekend events include music, food, events for children and some late night blues.

Thursday, 10/3/2013

This Thursday, we’d light to highlight three larger events all happening in the evening. If we get our timing right, we may hit them all.

Cary Chamber Member Appreciation Party – The weather looks perfect for the annual member appreciation party at the Cary Chamber. There will be food, beverages, prizes and the creme de la creme of the Cary business community. 5:00 – 7:00 PM. 307 N. Academy St., Cary NC.

Music in the Village – Park West’s inaugural music series takes place in front of the movie theater, this week featuring a band called A Mad Affair. 6:00 – 8:30 PM Park West Village in Morrisville.

Light Nights at Waverly – Popular jazz series this week features Jo Gore and the Alternative. 6:30 – 8:30 PM at Waverly Place in Cary.

Friday, 10/4/13

7 O’Clock Rock Latin Night – Corner of Chatham and Academy in Downtown Cary. Salsa lessons, dancing and music with Ricardo Diquez Orchestra. Free.

Nunsense – Final three performances this weekend on Friday and Saturday evening plus a Sunday Matinee. Tickets at CaryPlayers.org or Cary Arts Center.

Farmer’s Markets – Always a highlight on Cary Weekend Events. Get your fresh fruit, veggies, meats, cheeses, crafts and more in Downtown Cary, Waverly Place or the Western Wake Farmers Market.

Celebration of Children in the Arts – Triangle Youth String Sinfonia, Cary Ballet Company, Raleigh Youth Magic, Hope Ferris on Piano and children’s activities including Face Painting, Make & Take craft activities, Art work from local Schools, Popcorn & refreshments. FREE fun for everyone ~ Rain or Shine!! 2:30 – 5:30 PM at Cary Ballet Comapny. More details on the Calendar.

A Fifth of Blues at Doherty’s – One of the Triangle’s most popular bands returns to Doherty’s in Cary with their signature blend of blues, R&B and Soul. No cover; music starts at 10 PM. Doherty’s Irish Pub, 1979 High House Road. More info: Fifth of Blues.
