Here’s something different: celebrate Valentine’s Day with a wine tasting surrounded by lots of companions ready to love you.

Fine wines & beers, tasty treats and wet puppy kisses await guests at the 9th annual Bark & Wine with Your Valentine. When someone asks about your Valentine’s Day plans, you can tell them that you are saving lives while searching for a soul mate. You can sample 6-8 varieties of wine and beer in a commemorative event glass and enjoy light fare to complement the beverage flavors. Twenty-five dollars of the ticket price is tax deductible.

Reserve your table now at UnVined for their Corks & Cupcakes Valentines Day Event. The evening features a special 5 course tapas menu just for the occasion and for dessert, you and your sweetheart will be treated to a special gourmet cupcake and wine tasting. Musical entertainment for the evening is soft jazz by Angela Bingham.

Prix Fix Dinner

The newest restaurant to open in downtown Cary, Academy Street Bistro is offering a special prix fix dinner that includes a choice of three appetizers (Wild Mushroom Bisque, Hearts of Romaine Salad or Seared Bay Scallops) , four entrees  (Sauteed Sea Bass, Veal Chop, Heart Shaped Ravioli or a Surf and Turf), and a tasting trio of desserts including a raspberry cheesecake, chocolate dipped strawberries and a flourless chocolate truffle cake. Decadent Desserts

Who knew you could enjoy some daytime Valentine’s fun, thanks to the Town of Cary’s very active Senior Center. Enjoy a variety of desserts in celebration of Valentine’s Day. This will be a fun-filled event for all who smile at the thought of Valentines, chocolates and love! Bring your sweetie, come with friends, or just come along – this celebration is for everyone! Registration for this tasty event ended on January 31.

Chocolate Valentine’s Night

The Chocolate Boutique opened in Morrisville’s Park West Village this past summer and has been host to many fun parties and chocolate-making events. This locally owned shop (with second location Raleigh) is holding their first ever Valentine’s events.

The evening includes a bottle of champagne or wine per couple, dipped chocolate strawberries, 10 truffles to share or take home, a shot of European sipping chocolate and a tasting discussion on how and why chocolate has become an important component of this special holiday. Special Menus

Feb 14th, Enrigo’s in Waverly Place has special items, not usually featured on the regular menu. these include: Cocktail di Gamberi, Fresh pasta in a champagne sauce topped with edible rose petals, Cioppino soup, Veal Scaloppine and a cinnamon chocolate pastry. All Month: Firebirds in Park West Village has Valentine specials all month and the restaurant is specially decorated for the occasion. Take in a movie next door after dinner at the new Stone Theater.

Date Night Dinner to Go

Feb 14th, The Matthews House, 317 W Chatham St, Cary, NC 27511

The Matthews House has two options for Valentine’s Dinner this year – dine in or take out. The annual Valentine’s Take Out Dinner will be ready to pick up on Friday, February 14th. This three course romantic dinner includes one dozen red roses, and is ready to heat, with detailed instructions. The price is $100 or $125 with champagne.

Saturday Wine Dinner

On Saturday, February 15th at 6:30, The Matthews House (The Matthews House, 317 W Chatham St, Cary, NC 27511) will host a Valentine’s wine dinner in partnership with April Schlanger and Sip. Guests will enjoy an elegant, six course dinner with wine pairings and dancing. Courses will each feature a wine starting with soup course of parsnip carrot ginger soup paired with a Pino Grigio, and on through to the main course of Beef Bourguignon served with an Argentinian  Mendoza and then dessert of flour-less cake and passion fruit coulis served with an Domain Agape. Other course include shrimp, pork and a duck confit.

Dinner is $100 per person.
