A Dorcas Thanksgiving Breakfast will be held at Prestonwood Country Club from 7:30-9 am on Thursday. The free event includes breakfast, speakers, and testimonies from clients who have been helped through Dorcas’ programs.

At 7 pm, Green Hope High School drama students will be performing Dracula, a classic tale that will be full of excitement. The show will also repeat on Friday and Saturday evenings. Likewise, the drama department at Cary High will be holding a Drama Showcase on Thursday at 7pm. Talented students will be performing “Almost, Maine,” a romantic comedy containing nine short plays about love and loss.

The shops along Academy and Chatham streets in Downtown Cary will be open late for a Shop Hop from 5-8 pm on Friday. Many stores will have refreshments and prize drawings available for shoppers. Later, at 5:30, purchase tickets to watch the ACC Men’s Soccer Semifinals at WakeMed Soccer Park. Tickets are $10 for adults and available through etix.

Expressions: A Celebration of Food and Art will take place at the Umstead Hotel & Spa Friday evening from 6-9 pm. Mingle and dine with philanthropists, food/wine enthusiasts, and art lovers–all to benefit children’s mental and emotional health.

Another classy evening will take place from 6:30-8:30 in Downtown Cary’s Matthews House, as the 8th Annual Beaujolais Wine Celebration provides French food and wine in an elegant setting.

Spencers: Theatre of Illusion is a family-friendly show that will take audiences on a journey of intricate stage illusions at the Cary Arts Center from 7:30-8:30 pm.

An Annual Craft Show will be held at the Cary Senior Center from 9 am-3 pm on Saturday. Shop for creative holiday gifts and decorations all made with love and care by individuals over 50. Also, visit the Holiday Arts & Crafts Bazaar from 2-5 pm on Banyon Grove Loop in Cary.

Cary’s Annual Paper Shredding Event will take place from 9 am-1 pm. Citizens can bring their old financial documents or cardboard scraps to the Garmon Operations Center to be shredded and recycled.

Truck Day will take place at the Bright Horizons on Weston Parkway from 10 am-1 pm. The event will feature activities, games, and food, and all funds benefit the organization’s mission to brighten the lives of children and families in crisis.

The Healthy Body, Healthy Planet Fall Festival will take place at the Bond Park Community Center from 1:30-4 pm. The event features educational exhibitors and physical activities for the whole family.

Unwind your Cary weekend with two great concerts. Well-known news anchor, singer, and musician Bill Leslie will be performing from 4-5 pm at Page-Walker, and the Triangle Youth Jazz Ensemble will perform at the Cary Arts Center from 3-4 pm.

Across the Triangle

Learn how local businesses will be able to work more efficiently with ultra high-speed internet service from industry analyst and best-selling author Larry Downes at Life in the Fast Lane. The event in Durham is from 7:30-10 am on Thursday morning.

Couture for a Cause will be held at Marbles Kids Museum & IMAX Theatre on Saturday from 7-11 pm. The fashion show fundraiser includes 20 designers from all levels of expertise and 20 partnering nonprofits. Tickets are $3o ahead of time and $35 at the door.

A Table Tennis Tournament is taking place in Morrisville this weekend on Saturday and Sunday. The tournaments will feature fun and competition at all skill levels with over $5,000 in cash and prizes up for grabs.
