Cary, NC — Happy Thanksgiving, citizens! If you’re not out of town this weekend, here’s what is going on at home in Cary.

Thursday, November 27, 2014

Are you an early riser? From 8:30-11 am, Inside-Out Sports in Cary is hosting a Turkey Trot.

The morning starts with a one mile “fun run/walk” at 8:30, followed by the 8k at 9 am. There will also be a 100 yard dash for the little ones (under 7).

The Inside-Out Turkey Trot is the seventh event in the ten-race Second Empire Fall 2014 Grand Prix Series. Runners who participate in these races accumulate points and are awarded money and prizes at an awards banquet held at the Second Empire Restaurant at the conclusion of the Series. Find more information about the 8k.

It’s Final Friday, and the Cary Art Loop is back. The weather will be chilly on Friday–though not as much so as it has been–so be sure to bundle up as you enjoy wine, snacks, and downtown’s art galleries.

Tired of Thanksgiving leftovers already? The Corner Tavern & Grill on Maynard Road will be home to both a TGIF party–with dinner and bar specials–and a Karaoke Night Friday evening. Festivities start around 9 pm.

After the instruction, participants will be invited to play on a tournament course set up at Town Hall campus. Registration fee is $10, and pre-registration is recommended.

It’s Small Business Saturday–be sure to support locally-owned businesses in Cary and throughout the triangle this weekend while you Christmas shop.
