On Friday morning, Cary will host its first Share and Care Event at Herb Young Community Center from 9:30 am-noon. This is a resource fair that responds to the needs of individuals with disabilities–attendees can drop in to see what the community has to offer individuals with disabilities as well as for their loved ones and caregivers.

Registration is requested but not required; call 919-462-2027 for more information.

Later, from 7:30-8:30 pm at the Cary Arts Center, the Cary Town Band will present their Let’s Do Lunch concert. This family-friendly, free musical event will feature fun selections all about food and where it is found.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Many exciting Valentine’s Day events take place in Cary and across the Triangle today, some being the Cary Player’s presentation of The Best of Love: Bits and Bites and a Snow Day at Waverly Place. It’s all in the Valentine’s Day Event Guide.

The Triangle Youth Philharmonic will also present their Honors Recital at St. Paul’s church from 4-5 pm on Valentine’s evening. Musical selections will include works from Tchaikovsky, Copeland, Britten, and many others. The event is free and open to the public.

Brian Reagin, violinist and concert master of the NC Symphony, will return to the Page-Walker Arts & History center on Sunday evening from 4-5 pm. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the Cary Arts Center or online through etix.

Across the Triangle

The annual Hayti Heritage Film Festival will run Thursday, February 12-Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the Hayti Heritage Center, 804 Old Fayetteville Street in Durham. The three day will showcase a diverse body of documentaries, shorts, and full-length films written, produced, directed by, and featuring artists of color. Admission is free, but tickets are required. Call 919-683-1709 to reserve.

On Friday, February 13, 2015, from 7-9 pm at UNC Chapel Hill, Triangle Dance Festival for AIDS is holding an evening of performing arts to promote community involvement benefiting local and global AIDS charities. Come witness international, modern and urban dance performing groups with world music, spoken word, and a celebration of the worldwide battle against HIV/AIDS. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door.

The Spring Home Show will take place at the Raleigh Convention Center from Friday, February 13-Sunday, February 15, 2015. Hundreds of remodeling, home improvement, decor, and outdoor space experts will be all under one roof. Tickets can be purchased online.
