Page-Walker Offers $750 to High School Seniors
Cary, NC — High school seniors in Cary can apply now through May 15, 2015 to receive a $750 educational scholarship from the Page-Walker Arts & History Center.
Page-Walker Offers $750
The Page-Walker $750 History Scholarship is awarded each year to a high school senior in Cary, NC who displays an interest in the study of history and the humanities. The winner of the scholarship can use the money for any educational-related expenses, and their name will be displayed on a permanent plaque at Page-Walker.
This scholarship was established by the Friends of Page-Walker in 2012 to “advance their mission of enriching the community by serving as guardians for the Page-Walker Arts & History Center, by advocating preservation of Cary historic sites, by archiving history and facilitating history education, and by promoting the cultural arts.”
How to Apply
Applications are available online. Those interested must apply by Friday, May 15, 2015.
Along with their application, students must submit a:
- 600-1,000 word essay on a local history topic
- Letter of recommendation from their high school history teacher or counselor
This year’s essay topic is the impact of growth on the culture of the Cary community.
The award will be presented at the June 3, 2015 board meeting.
