Weekend: Beer, Bourbon & BBQ and Final Friday

Weekend

Cary, NC — The Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Festival is at Booth Amphitheatre this weekend. You can also enjoy Final Friday and a RailHawks soccer game – it’s all on the calendar.

Thursday, July 30, 2015

Today is Miracle Treat Day at Dairy Queen. Stop by Dairy Queen (locations are in both Cary and Morrisville) to buy a blizzard, and proceeds will be donated to Duke Children’s Hospital.

High school students and their parents can attend a helpful class, Finding the Right College for You, at West Regional Library from 6:30-7:30 pm. In this program, you’ll evaluate the many factors that need to be considered. Registration (919-463-8500) is recommended.

The Beer, Bourbon and BBQ Festival kicks off Friday night at Koka Booth Amphitheatre. Enjoy a “Whole Hog Pig Pickin'” from 6-10 pm, and come back on Saturday for 60 beers, 40 bourbons and a lot of BBQ. One and two-day tickets can be purchased online.

An “artsy” alternative to this festival is Cary’s monthly Final Friday celebration. As always, the art studios in Downtown Cary (in Ashworth Village) will be open until 9 pm with amazing works on exhibit, but, this month, you can also visit Coffee & Crepes (in Crossroads Plaza), the Bond Park Community Center and the Carolina Creative Center, or C3 (in Cary Towne Center).

A reception and altered books exhibit will take place at C3 from 6-8:30 pm.

The Beer, Bourbon and BBQ Festival continues from noon-6 pm today.

Orange Theory Fitness in Park West Village is holding an open house this afternoon from 2-5 pm. At this free event, you’ll tour the studio, learn more about the science behind the workout and meet the Orange team and fellow members.

The Carolina RailHawks will take on Tampa Bay at 7:30 pm at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary.

Enjoy live music at Rally Point Sport Grill from 7-10 pm tonight.
