Cary, NC — There are lots of family-friendly activities on the calendar this weekend, including several festivals, an outdoor movie, a triathlon and more.

Want to try a new work environment? Cary Coworking in Downtown Cary is offering a free day of coworking to the public from 9 am-5 pm on Friday.

Kids, need a night out without the parents? Parents, vice versa? From 6:30-9:30 pm, kids can enjoy a Kids Night Out with board games, dancing, evening snacks and scavenger hunts at the Cary Senior Center with an instructor. The cost ranges from $26-$34.

Enjoy live music at Rally Point on Harrison Avenue from 7-10 pm.

Artist Jim Gaffigan will perform at Koka Booth Amphitheatre from 8-10:30 pm on Friday evening. Lawn tickets start at $39.95.

Visit one of Cary’s four farmers’ markets this morning.

Have fun shopping and support a great cause by stopping by Which Biz Is Your Buzz – a monthly market that takes place at the American Legion (8523 Chapel Hill Road in Cary). There, you can shop at a variety of vendor booths selling products like Pampered Chef, Avon, crafts, baked goods and more and enter to win great raffle prizes for only a few dollars.

An India Independence Day Celebration will take place on Saturday from 10 am-3 pm at the HSNC Temple (309 Aviation Parkway) in Morrisville.

The Goddard School of Morrisville will host a Children’s Expo, open to the entire community, from 11 am-2:30 pm on Saturday. Kids under seven and their families can enjoy free snow cones, cotton candy, train rides, a fashion show, a bounce house and more.

Graceful Expressions Dance in Downtown Cary will host an open house from 1:30-3:30 pm with free sample dance classes and refreshments.

Asheville author Robert Beatty will hold a book signing and Q&A session at Barnes & Noble of Cary from 2-4 pm on Saturday afternoon.

A kid-friendly movie will be shown under the stars at Koka Booth tonight – families can catch Brave at 7 pm for only $5 and enjoy their own outdoor dinner theater.

The Plunge Pedal Plod Triathlon will take place at the Triangle Aquatic Center in Cary on Sunday from 8 am-noon. Families, children and athletic pros can choose which distance works best for their abilities in this family-friendly event hosted by Fit & Able.

Florida Georgia Line will perform at Walnut Creek Amphitheatre in Raleigh on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 7:30 pm. Find tickets online.

Mix things up and visit the Carrboro Farmers’ Market for a change. This market, located at 301. West Main Street in Carrboro, always has something new going on, and it’s just a short drive from Cary. The market is open from 7 am-noon on Saturdays.

The DURM Hip Hop Summit takes place in Durham this weekend Friday, August 14-Saturday, August 15, 2015. Performances at 4 and 8 pm illustrate the true meaning of Hip Hop while educating audiences on the foundation of Hip Hop’s roots.
