Thursdays in October are College Days at the new Pink Magnolia boutique in Cary. Students can stop by from 10 am – 7 pm and show their school ID to receive 15% off.

Pete Frederick will perform for this Thursday’s free Live at Lunch in Downtown Cary.

Try a Wine & Art Walk at Waverly Place from 6-8:30 pm.

You can see Chris Tomlin at 7 pm at Booth Amphitheatre. Lawn tickets are $35.

Join a librarian at West Regional Library for Storytime for Grown-Ups at 7 pm to hear short stories and ghostly tales followed by a fun discussion.

Enjoy Acoustic Nights in the District at Park West Village Friday and Saturday nights from 6-9 pm on the green in front of the movie theater.

Applause! Cary Youth Theatre will perform The Hound of Baskervilles at the Cary Arts Center all weekend, and shows start tonight at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $10.

Join Chatham Hill Winery for Trivia Night at 7 pm. Teams of up to six people  should register by 7 to qualify for the prize, a $50 giftcard to the winery. While you play, enjoy $5 wine slushies, wine and beer samplers, a food truck, music and more.

Cary Area EMS will be offer a Free Flu Clinic on Saturday morning to the public from 8 am-noon or until the vaccine is no longer available. Participants over the age of four should bring a non-perishable or a can of food to benefit the local food bank.

Shop for fun items and win a raffle prize all while supporting out-of-the-home businesses and veterans at Which Biz Is Your Buzz from 11 am-3 pm at American Legion Post 67. Crafts, candies, beauty products, accessories and more will be on sale.

A Celebration of Children in the Arts, hosted by Cary Ballet, will take place on Saturday afternoon from 2:30 – 5:30 pm. This free event is open to the public, and it will feature local youth from the Raleigh Boys Choir, Pitch Please and Philharmonic Association String Quartet. There will be several make and take craft stations and Magician Shaun Jay on site.

Eat at Doherty’s Irish Pub & Restaurant in Cary on Saturday night to support Wags4Tags, a local organization that unites emotionally injured veterans across North Carolina with trained rescue dogs so the two can heal in unconditional love, trust and loyalty. There will be live music, 50/50 raffles, family fun and games, a wine toss, arts & crafts and more.

Across the Triangle

The NC State Fair starts on Thursday and runs until Sunday, October 25, 2015.

A Gentlemen’s Guide to Love & Murder is known as one of Broadway’s funniest musicals. You can see it Thursday – Sunday this weekend at DPAC.

Triangle Vegfest is Saturday, October 17, 2015 from noon – 5 pm at Moore Square in Downtown Raleigh. There will be local food, numerous vendors of veg products (local, regional and national), area non-profits, food demos, live music and expert speakers. This event is free.
