Weekend: Theater, Music & Raleigh Home Show
Cary, NC — We counted seven cultural arts performances on the Cary calendar this weekend and also found some great events across the Triangle – like the Downtown Raleigh Home Show and Revolutionary War reenactments in Hillsborough.

Join WordsWorking, a local resource, for an interactive workshop that will help you overcome your fear of public speaking at the Apex Chamber of Commerce on Friday morning from 8:30 – 11:30 am. You’ll learn how to introduce yourself to others in a networking situation and be prepared to present yourself and your business in a professional manner, no matter what the situation. Register online, because space is limited. $35 fee includes refreshments and all materials.
It’s Improv Night in the Cary High School auditorium. The show starts at 7 pm, and the admission price is just $2.
The Cary Players will present their romantic comedy theater production, Crossing Delancey, at The Cary Theater on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This is the last weekend to catch the show. Find the show schedule and tickets ($20) online.
Another performance starts at 7:30 pm at the Cary Arts Center – it’s a free show from the Cary Town Band called For All The Seasons. You’ll hear Strauss’ “Voices of Spring,” Gershwin’s “Summertime,” King’s “Autumn Flowers” and more.

While Crossing Delancey is going on at The Cary, the Presidio Brass Band will perform down the road at the Cary Arts Center. Tickets for this 7:30 pm show, which includes a five-piece band that presents music made famous in films, are $26.

Make a Fairy Garden at Garden Supply Company in Cary on Sunday at 2 pm. The $25 class fee includes instruction and basic building materials, but the purchase of plants, accessories and container (unless you bring your own) are extra.
Then, catch a Sunday afternoon show at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center at 4 pm as Brian Reagin, violinist and Concertmaster of the NC Symphony, returns to Cary as a favorite. Reagin, who captivates audiences with his brilliant performances, will treat concert-goers to a classical repertoire on his Lorenzo and Tomasso Carcassi violin made in Florence, Italy in 1763. Refreshments will be served at intermission, and tickets are $16.50 a performance. on etix.

Across the Triangle
The Downtown Raleigh Home Show returns to the Raleigh Convention Center Friday, February 19, 2016 – Sunday, February 21, 2016. The huge building will be packed-full with inspiration and experts for both indoor and outdoor home design and functionality, while a kids zone keeps little ones occupied. To celebrate Black History Month, Historic Stagville and Morehead Planetarium will present Stagville Under the Stars on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 6 pm that focuses on the astronomy and night sky myths and legends told in African cultures as well as the related stories told by scientists today. The free program will begin with storytelling and after that, guests will peer through telescopes for a constellation tour looking at the same stars as our ancestors.
The 16th annual Revolutionary War Living History Day is Saturday, February 20, 2016 in historic Hillsborough. At this family-friendly event, the public can experience the local history of the American Revolutionary War with live actors, dancers, historic tours, and interactive activities from 10 am – 4: 30 pm.
