Cary, NC – As the summer winds down, make sure to take advantage of the free outdoor movies and concerts in the evenings, as well as some fun activities for kids before school starts. Screen on the Green

Friday, August 12, 8 PM
Bring the family to Bradford Shops to enjoy a free outdoor movie, Inside Out. The movie starts when the sun goes down and takes place on the green, near the swimming pool. Bring a chair or blanket.
Instrument Petting Zoo
Cary Community Library, 310 S Academy St.
Saturday, August 13, 3 PM to 4 PM
If your kids have been hankering to try out a tuba or cello, this is their chance. Members of Raleigh/Durham chapter of the Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity will present a program about musical instruments and give kids a chance to try them out.
Sertoma Concert Series
Bond Park, 801 High House Rd.
Saturday, August 13, 6 PM
This is the second to last show in the free Sertoma Concert Series. The last concert will be our own Cary Town Band on Friday, September 16. This Saturday, Charm City Junction will be sharing its high-energy old time, bluegrass and Irish tunes. This concert is sponsored in part by PineCone, which supports and promotes traditional North Carolina music. The concert will take place at Sertoma Amphitheatre, within Bond Park. If you get there early you can claim one of the Amphitheatre’s seats, but you might want to bring your own folding chair just in case.
Downtown Cary Food & Flea

Sunday, August 14, noon to 4 PM
The Downtown Cary Food & Flea is a monthly market that features local food trucks, local craft beer, vintage, art, crafts, edible goods, music and more. It takes place the second Sunday of the month. At the August 14 market, the food trucks will be Thai Box Zing Catering and Dusty Donuts. Live music will be provided by Dave and Rory and Steve Holcomb.
North Carolina Symphony Music Discovery
West Regional Library, 4000 Louis Stephens Dr.
Wednesday, August 17, 7 PM to 8 PM
Here’s another fun, educational program from Wake County Public Libraries. David Kilbride from the North Carolina Symphony will be leading a music education program for preschool children and their parents. Registration is not required.
