Veterans Day Events Around Cary

Cary, NC – Veterans Day is this Friday, November 11, 2016 and there are many events in and around Cary if you want to get together with other people and show your appreciation for veterans.

The Annual Veterans Luncheon is a lunch for veterans at Herbert C. Young Community Center. It takes place on Thursday, November 10, 2016 from 11:30 AM to 1 PM.

There is a Flag Raising Ceremony at the Cary YMCA on Veterans Day at 10:50 AM. Afterwards, there will be a small reception.

Veterans Freedom Park will have a remembrance event at 11 AM on Veterans Day. Veterans Freedom Park is located on 1513 NW Cary Parkway.

Also, the Carolina Veterans Support Group is letting people sponsor flags that will be at the Veterans Freedom Park event, with the money for the sponsored flags going to elderly veterans’ home repairs.

Outside Cary

And outside of Cary, Historic Yates Mill County Park is holding a Veterans Day event at 1 PM at 4620 Lake Wheeler Rd. in Raleigh. This event will also have a workshop to make cards to send to veterans.
