2019 Valentine’s Day Events in Cary

Cary, NC – Celebrate Valentine’s Day on Thursday, February 14 with events all over Cary, leading up to the big day and on Valentine’s Day itself. You can also find some fun events going on around Cary as well.

Group Events

Parents’ Night Out is an opportunity for parents to leave their children with the Town of Cary and the Cary Teen Council while they have a romantic night out ahead of Valentine’s Day. There will be games, arts, crafts and pizza. It takes place at the Herbert C. Young Community Center on Friday, February 8 from 5:30 to 9:30 PM. Children must be toilet-trained.

Sole Mates is a couples race event, with 5K and 10K runs. It takes place at WakeMed Soccer Park at 11 AM on Saturday, February 9.

Learn to take care of the heart with a CPR and AED Class at West Regional Library. This is a free class and also includes how to stop bleeding and other emergency health care. Registration is requested and it starts at 7 PM on Tuesday, February 12. Note: this is not a certification course.

The Mayton Inn is hosting the Galentine’s Day Watercolor Workshop, taught by local artist Susie Silver. Registration and details are online and it starts at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, February 13.

The Cary Senior Center is holding a Valentine’s Day tea, for people aged 55 and older. The event starts at 2 PM on Thursday, February 14.

Shopping Event

Downtown Cary Food and Flea is a chance to get Valentine’s Day gifts before the big day. It takes place at Fidelity Bank plaza and has arts, crafts, food, drinks and live music. It runs from noon to 4 PM on Sunday, February 9.

Chatham Street Wine Market is holding a Valentine’s wine tasting with themed wines. It is a free event and takes place between 1 and 3 PM on Saturday, February 9. Also, their weekly free wine tasting also takes place on Valentine’s Day at 5 PM.

You can find Valentine’s Day gifts at the farmers’ markets this weekend. Both the Downtown Cary Farmers’ Market and Western Wake Farmers’ Market are this Saturday morning, February 9 and have handmade crafts as well as fresh produce.

Shows and Music

The Cary Theater is playing classic romantic movies all weekend long, starting with “The Way We Were” at 2 PM, “The Notebook” at 7 PM and “War of the Roses” at 9:30 PM on Thursday, February 14, with more movies throughout the weekend.

The Cary Arts Center hosts “Masters of Soul,” a night of classic soul and Motown music, part of the Marvelous Mainstage Music Series. The show starts at 7:30 PM on Friday, February 15.

Around the Triangle

Taste Carolina Gourmet Food Tours in Downtown Raleigh is holding a special Valentine’s Day tour with food and drinks around town, including dessert. It runs from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday, February 14.

If you aren’t into the usual Valentine’s Day aesthetic but still want to do something romantic, Arcana in Durham is holding a Goth Prom Valentine’s Dance with music, dancing and tarot card readings. It starts at 9 PM on Thursday, February 14.

Morehead Planetarium in Chapel Hill is holding “Carolina Skies” as it shows various constellations linked to stories of romance and tells their stories to visitors. Because of the event’s popularity, there are two shows: 7 and 8:30 PM on Thursday, February 14.
