Weekend Events: Waverly Snow Day, First Friday and More

Note: Waverly Place’s Snow Day has been rescheduled to Saturday, March 9, 2019 due to weather.

Cary, NC – It’s the start of March in Cary which means it’s Waverly Place’s annual Snow Day event. Also this weekend, you can take part in Park West Village’s First Friday, see SNL-alumnus Brooks Wheelan at Parkside Town Commons and more.

Park West Village in Morrisville celebrates First Friday with special event-only sales and trunk shows featuring local artists. It runs from 5 to 8 PM.

The Cary Theater is playing new and Academy Award-winning films this weekend, with “The Old Man and the Gun” playing at 7 PM and “The Favourite” playing at 9 PM.

Comedian Brooks Wheelan performs at the Raleigh Improv at Parkside Town Commons this weekend, with a performance at 7:30 and 9:45 PM on Friday.

This Saturday, check out the Cary Downtown Farmers Market at the Ivey Ellington House on W Chatham Street and the Western Wake Farmers Market by the Morrisville Town Hall, starting at 9 and 9:30 AM respectively.

Waverly Place is holding their annual Snow Day event with sledding on blown snow at Waverly Place. The event starts at 11 AM and there are also shopping deals, music, games and more.

Around the Triangle

Raleigh’s Juniper Level Botanic Garden is free and open to visitors this weekend, with tours, food trucks and talks by experts on gardening and pollination. It is open from 8 AM to 5 PM on Friday and Saturday and 1 PM and 5 PM on Sunday.

CAM Raleigh is celebrating the start of the new month with a new art exhibit, live music, food trucks, drinks and more. The event starts at 6 PM on Friday and it is free to attend.

Reynolds Industries Theatre in Durham hosts Camille A. Brown in a new dance performance that looks at the role of race and racism in American pop culture. The show starts at 8 PM on Friday.
