Events: Remembering 9/11 Through Music

Cary, NC – On Sunday, it will be ten years since the awful events of September 11, 2001. Here are three musical events in the area that may bring a measure of comfort to all those who still suffer.

Morning – Gabriel Faure’s Requiem

Kirk of Kildare will present two services of “hope and remembrance” on Sunday morning.The Kirk Chancel Choir and Orchestra will present Gabriel Faure’s “Requiem” featuring the Chancel Choir, Orchestra and guest soloists Barbara Allen Peters, soprano and David Mellnik, baritone and director of Cary Community Choir. 3 PM – Sertoma Amphitheatre

Rodney Wynkoop will conduct the Duke Chapel Choir, the Duke Chorale, the Choral Society of Durham, and the Orchestra Pro Cantores in a performance of Mozart’s Requiem. More info.
