Music: A Fifth of Blues at Iron Horse on Friday
Story from staff reports. Photo by Brooke Meyer.
Apex, NC – Just a quick note that A Fifth of Blues, featuring CaryCitizen publisher Hal Goodtree on bass guitar, will be appearing at the Iron Horse in Apex on Friday night.
A Fifth of Blues
A Fifth of Blues has been together for five years and tours all over the area.
They play the music of Etta James, BB King, Muddy Waters, Ray Charles and a whole lot more. Last Saturday, a couple of hundred people packed the patio at RallyPoint to hear the band and do some dancing.
Back in April, the band was a featured act at Cary’s Spring Daze festival. Friend the band on Facebook if you’re so inclined.
The Iron Horse
The Iron Horse, formerly known at The Little Bar, is on Highway 64 just west of Briar Creek. See it on a map.
It’s a homey place, all by itself on the eastbound side of the road. A reviewer on Yelp had this to say:
The Iron Horse is a great spot for people from all over. It is really unique and is like taking a little step back in time which most people need. Apex needs a place where anybody can go and relax and make friends. When driving down US 64 West of Apex just put your brakes on , let your hair down and go on in and you will want to come back again and again.
