Weekend Events: Grace Potter, Diwali, Sk-8 Park and the State Fair

Cary, NC – Just another quiet weekend in Cary, NC. The State Fair will be roaring into its second weekend just over the town line on Hillsborough Street. Grace Potter and the Nocturnals will be at Booth Amph on Friday; Hum Sub’s Diwali Festival will be there on Saturday. All this and more on the Calendar of Events.
NC State Fair
Get your Krispy Kreme burger and a ride on the Fireball. See the agricultural exhibits or take in the demolition derby. It’s all there this weekend at the NC State Fair.
Grace Potter & the Nocturnals
The fabulous Grace Potter will be at Booth Amphitheatre this Friday. The power and passion of her voice has been compared to Janis Joplin and blues great Koko Taylor.
The band hails from Vermont. They play a mix of indie rock, blues, folk and alternative. More info at Booth Amphitheatre.
Diwali
The area’s biggest celebration of Indian food, music and dance happens this Saturday at Booth Amphiutheatre (busy weekend at KBA).
Gates open at 10:30 AM and the festivities go on until after dark. Admission is free and fireworks cap off the evening.

Sk-8 Cary Fall Contest Series
The best action-sports athletes on the East Coast compete for the Fall Contest Series Title. From Sk-8 Park:
All levels of skaters and riders are invited to compete in our contest where you can watch beginners make their first-ever runs and Sk8-Cary’s team members contend for their spot on our squad. Register at Sk8-Cary or over the phone. For more details, please contact our office at (919) 380-2970.
