Pictures: Fire Sculpture Lights Up Downtown Cary

Cary, NC – It was a spectacle like no other Cary has seen – a giant clay sculpture, baking itself in its own flames, unwrapped and revealed to a sizable (and somewhat awestruck) crowd. Most fortunately, photographer Brooke Meyer was there to capture the flavor of this remarkable event.

Just the concept behind this sculpture is awesome. Who thinks of sculpture as a performance event? A spectacle? Sculpture??

There was music at Cary Arts Center and hot cider and s’mores around the sculpture, created by Danish artist Nina Hole. One spectator told CaryCitizen that the heat was so great, she felt like she was “getting baked from 40 feet away.”
