Cary, NC – Easter weekend in Cary is usually pretty slow. A time for family, church and maybe travel. But there’s a baseball tournament on for this weekend, an Easter bonnet Festival and a few other enticing events.
Easter Weekend, 2013
Easter weekend is always a pause, or a turning point in the spring. This year, that’s more true than ever. It’s like a trifecta of spring holidays all in one weekend.
In addition to Good Friday and Easter Sunday, Passover continues until Tuesday, April 2. And, traditional calendar school children are off from Thursday 3/26 until Monday, April 8.
In short, a large part of population will be celebrating, feasting, or on vacation.
National Baseball Invitational
Maybe you have family over. Or maybe you just like baseball. This weekend, the National High School Invitational is taking place at USA Baseball in Cary. From the organizers:
USA Baseball National High School Invitational (NHSI) will bring together 16 of the top prep teams in the country to compete against each other in what has become the premier event on the high school baseball calendar.
The weather Saturday looks particularly balmy for baseball. So get out the house and catch a game this weekend right here in Cary.

Special Easter Menu
Some restaurants may be closed on Easter. Others have a special menu.
Here’s one we know about: Dean’s Seafood in Cary is having a special Easter Brunch.
Don’t know Dean’s? It occupies the spot formerly known as Stonewood Grill in Preston Walk. From the Calendar:
In addition to your traditional brunch offerings of omelets, pancakes, waffles and French Toast, the buffet will include Shrimp & Grits, Roasted Salmon, Oysters on the Half Shell, Peel & Eat Shrimp, Fried Chicken and more. Be sure to leave room for the fresh-baked desserts!
Happy Holiday Weekend!
