Weather Changes Outdoor Plans in Cary

weather

Cary, NC – It’s summer and that means thunderstorm and often unpredictable weather here in Cary. Within 10 minutes, various Cary outdoor activities changed dates and venues on several outdoor concerts. Here’s the latest.

The Magnificents – Postponed to July 11

Tonight (Thursday),  7 O’clock Rock night in Downtown Cary, featuring beach music by the Magnificents, has been postponed til July 11 due to the unpredictable weather. Cross your fingers that the current recurring cycle of storms will have moved on by then.

The Seven O’clock format includes dance lessons and a concert all in the street at the intersection of Academy and Chatham in Downtown. The fun starts at 7pm. Streets are closed for the evening for the festivities which have grown quite popular. The series, scheduled by the Town of Cary’s Cultural Arts Department was fortunate to be able to reschedule this popular event to another Thursday in the summer.

Snyder Family – Moved Inside

The second notice is that the Snyder Family blue grass concert scheduled to perform at Page-Walker this Friday will be moved to the Cary Arts Center at 101 Dry Avenue. The show begins at 6:30 with performances by students from this summer’s bluegrass camps. If you haven’t seen the Snyder family, take this opportunity the concert is free and the Arts Center is a great venue to hear the large talents of this small family. Siblings Samantha and Zeb Samantha have talent way beyond their years, and they are occasionally joined by the youngest member, Owen who is all of seven.  This concert is one of the Starlight Concert series which runs at Page-Walker Arts & History Center during the summer and is sponsored by the Town of Cary and PineCone.
