Steel Magnolias Under the Stars

While work crews are getting set for Lazy Daze on Saturday, Booth Amphitheatre will be showing Steel Magnolias as part of the Movies by Moonlight Series on Friday.

It’s a Southern story starring Sally Field, Shirley McLean, Dolly Parton, Olympia Dukakis, Julie Roberts and and all-star cast. Released in 1990, it was nominated for an Academy Award.

RailHawks Kicks for Kids Night

The Carolina RailHawks’ Spread Your Wings Charity will host the third annual ‘Kicks for Kids’ Night on Saturday, August 24, as the RailHawks take on the Minnesota Stars. The organization teams up with other local charities including the United Way, Boys and Girls Club to provide youth and their families the opportunity to experience an exciting RailHawks game and a soccer clinic.

Grease Sing-Along

The big screen will be bright again on Saturday night at Booth Amphitheatre for their first ever Grease Sing-Along. Costumes encouraged!

More Weekend Events

In years past, everything ground to a halt the weekend of Lazy Daze. Not so this year.

The Cary Players will hold their Pietzsch Awards Gala Saturday night. There’s a blood drive at the West Regional Library, all three farmers markets will be open, The Jim Ferris Trio will be at Doherty’s and lots of other interesting things are on tap around town. Who knew?
