Alabama – On Friday night, supergroup Alabama will take the stage at Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary. Get tickets.

Diane Schuur – Also Friday,  jazz vocalist and Grammy Winner Diane Schuur will be at Cary Arts Center. From Cary Arts Center: “With a recording career that spans nearly three decades–and includes two Grammy Awards and three Grammy nominations–Diane Schuur is as eclectic as she is brilliant. Born in Tacoma, Washington, in December 1953, Schuur was blind from birth. A longtime disciple of Dinah Washington and other legendary jazz singers of the ‘40s and ‘50s, Schuur has built a stellar career.” Get tickets.

Farmers Markets – All three Cary farmers markets (Downtown, Waverly and Western Wake) are in full swing. Stop by Saturday morning and stock up on farm-fresh, seasonal produce including tomatoes, strawberries, all kinds of greens and much more.

National Train Day in Cary – For the past couple of years, Cary has had one of the biggest celebrations of National Train Day in the entire country. But then, Cary’s been a railroad town since 1857. From 10 AM to 2 PM on Saturday, 5/10/14, bring the family to Cary’s Downtown Amtrak station for a day of excitement, activities, music, giveaways and prizes. American Love Songs – Presented by The Concert Singers of Cary with The Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle and baritone John Kramar. Cary Arts Center, 7:30 PM. Get tickets.
