Cary, NC — On Friday, July 4, the weather was sunny and mild for Cary’s Olde Time Independence Day Celebration at Bond Park. Photographer Brooke Meyer was there to document the fun.

It was old fashioned fun for the whole family at Cary’s Olde Time Independence Day Celebration – potato sack races, watermelon and donut eating contests, seed spitting, dog talent shows and more.

The day kicked off with the parade of decorated wagons and bikes, and went on from there.

Most races and contests had an adult and a kid version. Here adults race to cross the finish without dropping their eggs.

If you missed the fun this year, check it out in 2015. Cary’s Olde Time Independence Day celebration at Bond Park is for the whole family and is good, old fashioned, clean fun.
