Drag Bingo Comes to Cary

Cary, NC — Did I wander into a Rocky Horror showing? Nope, just a drag bingo game.

Bingo’s a Witch

No, it isn’t Halloween, still a little too warm for that, it’s a bingo game. Drag bingo to be specific. Bingo’s a Witch is an event held at least several times a year in Raleigh, NC, but, for the first time ever, this October 11, 2014 will mark its first Cary location. So, just as the leaves trade in their green for the colors of fall, so too will people be putting up their jeans and sneakers for pantyhose and high heels. Drag Diva’s work up the crowd with costumes, ludicrous hairstyles and more.

Good Cause

Of course, this isn’t all about fun and games. Bingo’s a Witch is organized by the Alliance of AIDS Services – Carolina, a nonprofit organization. The proceeds from the event will go to helping the fight against AIDS and HIV and, through past events, has managed to raise more than $750,000. This money has been put to use through various services, education and prevention. All of this is for the good of the community and to help bring an end to a terrible disease.

Costs

For $25 you can get basic, lawn seating for you and six other players. Not feeling the lawn? No problem! For $300, ten people can have a table to play at. Wanting something even ritzier? How about the stage? $400 will snag you and nine others a seat on stage where all the action will be. Play alongside the divas and help yourself to the bottle of cider given to you for your contribution. Parents, don’t be afraid to bring your kids ages 12 and below because, good news, they get in for free!… The bad news is they can’t play. Nor can anyone below the age of 18. Picnics are welcome and beer and wine can be bought at the concessions stand.

So come on over, play some bingo, and go ahead, let your hair down.
