Get involved in Cary and Morrisville by attending two meetings on Thursday–one in the morning and one in the evening. Enjoy a cup of coffee and some great networking with local business people at Coffee & Connections, held at the Morrisville Chamber at 7:30 am.

You can also participate in the Cary Town Council Meeting at 6:30 pm on Thursday evening at Town Hall.

The Artie Shaw Orchestra, a jazz and swing band, will play at the Cary Arts Center on Friday evening from 7:30-8:30 pm. Their music pleases a wide range of audiences, from fans of yesteryear to new jazz lovers. Tickets are available through etix.com.

Also on Friday night, at the Cary Theater, Six Strings Presents will host folk musicians Malcolm Holcombe and David Olney. Tickets, starting at $20, are available through etix.com.

Locally grown food and homemade goods are available year-round at the Western Wake Farmers Market held at 1225 Morrisville Carpenter Road. The market is open each Saturday morning from 9:30 am-noon and features seasonal produce, flowers, herbs, baked goods, eggs, cheese, meats, seafood, coffee, tea, honey, soap, and even beer growlers.

Graceful Expressions Dance Company is hosting a Father/Daughter/Mother/Son dance at Grace Christian School on Buck Jones Road from 3-5 pm on Sunday. All parents and children are welcome; the dance will also feature accommodations and activities for children with special needs and/or limited mobility.

This event is free, but attendees must pre-register online beforehand.

Also on Sunday, at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center, artist Tony Williamson will perform a concert at 4 pm. His shows bring to the stage a love of music, a deep connection to his Carolina roots, and an incredible knowledge of musical instruments and their history. Tickets are $15.

Across the Triangle

A Kids Exchange Consignment Sale will be held at the N.C. State Fairgrounds, near the Jim Graham building, on Saturday from 9 am-5 pm. At the sale, customers can shop for children’s clothing, equipment, toys, and more. Elsa, Spiderman, and Elmo will be there to meet kids from 1-3 pm.

Also on Saturday, from 10-11 am, a family event called Little Sprouts will be held at the N.C. Botanical Gardens in Chapel Hill. For $10, parents and children can learn about the natural world through stories, short hikes, and crafts.

The Durham Winter Food Truck Rodeo will be at Durham Central Park from noon-4 pm on Sunday. Attendees can enjoy 45+ food trucks, activities for children, and live entertainment from Luis Del Rio and Los Calaveras.
