Cary, NC — This weekend in Cary, check out a handful of free, outdoor shows, a youth theater presentation, an outdoor movie, and the Wheels on Academy car show. It’s all on the calendar.

The Cary Innovation Center will host a business fundamentals seminar at their Downtown Cary office from 9 am-noon on Thursday morning.
Two free outdoor music series continue on Thursday. At lunchtime, catch live bluegrass music in front of the Fidelity Bank Plaza (near Ashworth Village) in Downtown Cary. Then, after work, at 6 pm, visit Park West Village for live music in front of Stone Theater.
Listen in on a free session about non-toxic pest control at West Regional library from 3-4 pm on Thursday. David Orr, an NC State professor, will explain the importance of integrated pest management and non-toxic methods to keep your plants healthy.

Applause!, the Cary Youth Theater, will put on performances of The Phantom Tollbooth all weekend at the Cary Arts Center. Shows are at 7:30 pm Friday-Saturday and 3 pm on Sunday.
On Friday evening, join Waverly Place in Cary for a weekend benefit concert benefiting the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. The event starts at 5:30 pm, and bands start at 7.
Also on Friday, Koka Booth’s Movies by Moonlight series continues with an outdoor showing of Big Hero 6. Tickets are $5, and gates open at 7 pm.
At 7:30 pm, join the Cary Town Band as they play music from the British Empire at Bond Park’s Sertoma Amphitheatre. This show is free.

The 4th annual Wheels on Academy car show will take place from 9 am-2 pm on Saturday in the streets of Downtown Cary. There will be food trucks, car displays and contests, vendors, kids activities, entertainment and more.
The Moore Brothers Band (a trio of brothers ages 11-20!) will perform at the Sertoma Amphitheatre at Bond Park on Saturday evening from 5-6 pm. Then, the Carolina Railhawks will take on New York at the WakeMed Soccer Park later in the evening at 7:30 pm.

Across the Triangle
The Morrisville Rotary will present their 7th annual Wines Around the World event at RDU airport from 6-8:30 pm on Thursday, May 14, 2015. The event features food and wine from different countries and raffle prizes. Proceeds ($35 individual) benefit three local charities.
Artsplosure 2015, a three-day festival, will take place in Downtown Raleigh Friday, May 15, 2015-Sunday, May 17, 2015. Centered in Moore Square and on the adjacent streets in Raleigh’s City Market area, the free festival features dozens of art and music events.
The International Guitar Summit, which place in Durham this weekend from Thursday, May 14, 2015-Saturday, May 16, 2015 is a guitar festival that brings together guitarists who are looking to network and collaborate, attend special VIP clinics and workshops and attend jam sessions.
