The Goddard School (on NW Maynard Road in Cary) will hold a Children’s Expo and Open House on Thursday evening from 4-7:30 pm. Families can enjoy a bounce house, face painting, popcorn, and special promotions for those who enroll.

The St. Michael’s Players theater group will perform their production of MAME starting tonight and running through Saturday, August 22, 2015.

It’s trivia night at Chatham Hill Winery. From 7-10 pm, teams up to six people can compete for a $50 gift card. Beer, wine and Wingski’s food truck will serve refreshments.

Enjoy wine, food and the Ed Stephenson Duo playing Spanish and “Nuevo Flamenco” music at Fresca Cafe & Gelato in Waverly Place from 6:30-9:30 pm.

Booth Amphitheatre’s last “Movie by Moonlight” of the season is tonight. Guardians of the Galaxy is only $5 – gates open at 7 pm and the show starts by 8:30 pm.

Cary’s largest festival of the year – the 39th annual Lazy Daze juried arts and crafts fair, will take place on Town Hall campus in Downtown Cary from 9 am-5 pm. Entertainment, food, kid’s activities and 327 artist booths are just part of the event’s draw.

If you’re looking for a place to cool off during Lazy Daze, stop by the Page-Walker for their Birthday, Buttons and a Band event. To celebrate the Friends’ 30th anniversary, there will be a button giveaway, a selfie station, tours of the 1868 building and a scavenger hunt.

Chatham Hill Winery is celebrating National Dog’s Day weekend on Saturday from 11 am-6 pm and on Sunday from 1-5 pm. Bring your dog and a digital photo of him/her and relax on the porch while the winery prints the photo on the label of a bottle of wine that you purchase.

High Clouds, a southern musical duo, will perform at Page-Walker from 2-5 pm, and the Sister Cities of Cary’s annual Beer Garden will return to the gardens.

Rally Point on Harrison Avenue will host their sixth year celebration from 7-10 pm with live music, drink specials and other special offers.

The Carolina RailHawks will take on New York at 7:30 pm at Cary’s WakeMed Soccer Park.

Enjoy classic rock from The Whisky Runners at Doherty’s Irish Pub from 9:30 pm-midnight.

Across the Triangle

Enjoy a free movie under the stars on top of a Chapel Hill parking deck – E.T. will play on Thursday, August 20, 2015 from 8:30-10 pm at the Wallace Parking Deck. Popcorn will be provided, but be sure to bring a chair or picnic blanket.

Catch a Durham Bulls game this weekend – the Bulls will play at home Thursday-Sunday.

The Raleigh-Durham AfroCaribbean-Association will present their 4th Annual CaribMask Carnival Parade and Festival Village in Downtown Raleigh on Saturday, August 22, 2015. The celebration of culture starts with a parade at noon followed by a festival. There will be Caribbean cuisine, arts and craft vendors, live entertainment, a kid’s corner and more.
