Morrisville’s municipal election is coming on on November 3, 2015. If you’re a resident, you can get informed on the new and returning candidates by attending the Morrisville Chamber of Commerce’s Candidate Forum from 5-8 pm at the RDU Airport Holiday Inn.

The Reel-ly Scary Cary Film Series starts tonight with a haunted house and an outdoor showing of The Ring! Check our Halloween Guide for details.

From 6:30-8:30 pm, check out a Wine Walk at Waverly Place. Enjoy local art, refilling your “tasting cup” with wine and live music under the stars.

Carolina Office Xchange’s annual Fall Xtravaganza event will run from 11:30 am-2 pm today. There will be food and drinks, raffle prizes and great prices on furniture. All you need to do is bring food items to donate to the Dorcas Food Pantry.

Enjoy stand-up comedy from Sid Davis at The Cary Theater tonight at 8 pm. This Ohio farm boy-turned airline mechanic-turned comic is one of comedy’s rising stars.

Saturday is full of Halloween events in Cary – like a Downtown Harvest Festival, Tales of Yesteryear Production, Haunted House, Pumpkin Carve and more.

Not into Halloween? No worries. Try a Hooping & Jamming event at Chatham Hill Winery from 6-8 pm to drink wine and hoop with a hula hooping instructor.

While all the Halloween events are underway, Diamante, Inc. hosts a special event – the Diamante Awards, also known as the Diamonds are Forever Fundraising Gala. Guests enjoy a welcome reception with drinks and appetizers, meet new people, participate in a silent auction and enjoy live music before having an elegant three-course dinner followed by dancing.

Across the Triangle

The Morehead Planetarium in Chapel Hill hosts monthly free Skywatching Sessions, and Friday, October 23 is one of them. Morehead educators bring telescopes and guide you through fun observations of stars, planets, moons, nebulae and other celestial objects.

This weekend is the last weekend of the NC State Fair – but that’s not all that’s going on in Raleigh. On Saturday, October 24, 2015, there’s a Zombie Walk in Moore Square at 7 pm and a Day of the Dead 5K from 10:30 am-5 pm with kids activities, music, art and food.

The Durham Bulls will host their 2015 Fall Fan Fest on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Durham Bulls Athletic Park from 11 am to 2 pm. Fans will be able to take batting practice and play catch on the field and enter into a raffle to win a Trick-or-Treat outing with Wool E. Bull. Additionally, the Ballpark Corner Store will be having an end-of-season blowout sale.

Disney’s Beauty & the Beast will run October 23 – October 25, 2015 at DPAC. Tickets start at $30 for this splendid show, and the costumes look amazing.
