Harvest Day9

Cary, NC — This weekend, many Cary kids will dress up to go trick-or-treating. But, for the Heart of Cary Association, Halloween comes one week early every year in the form of their Downtown Harvest Festival. Brooke Meyer took some photos of the festivities and nearby events.

Downtown Harvest Festival

The Heart of Cary Association’s Downtown Harvest Festival filled Chatham Street for most of the day on Saturday, October 24, 2015. The festival was bustling with games, activities for kids, shopping opportunities for adults, live music, food trucks and more.

There was a bounce house and castle, a life-size foosball court made of hay and human players, face-painting by Captain Jack Sparrow, clay-throwing demonstrations by Cary Pottery and more. The Cary Invasion dancers and mascot, Cosmo, were there, as were some of our favorite Cary businesses like Once in a Blue Moon and Smiling Circle Yoga and Massage.

We got to see some impressive 3-D pumpkins, too, as Cary’s Great Pumpkin Carve was going on right next door in front of the Ivey Ellington House.
