in Downtown Raleigh, S. Salisbury St. between Martin St. and Lenoir St.
Warrior Workout
Warrior Workout
Tuesday, November 10, 2015; 5-9 pm
at Prestonwood Country Club, 300 Prestonwood Parkway, Cary
“Sweat for a vet” at this fun workout, after-party and fundraiser.
Registration opens at 4:30 pm the day of the event. Participants of all ages can enjoy Zumba, martial arts, obstacle courses and a kids zone for a suggested $20 donation to USVC and Operation Coming Home. The workout starts at 5:45 pm, and, after, participants can enjoy a silent auction and party with a DJ, food trucks and a beer tent.
Free For Vets
Nov. 8- 14: Free week of Workouts at Orange Theory
In honor of Veteran’s Day Nov. 11, Orangetheory Fitness Triangle studios are offering a free week of classes Nov. 8-14 to all local veterans, active military, military spouses, and military families. Veterans, military personnel and military families who decide to join Orangetheory Fitness during the week of Nov. 8-14 will be offered a special discount at each studio.

Flag-Raising Ceremony

Cary YMCA, 101 YMCA Drive, Cary
This annual flag-raising ceremony brings together members of the community to honor veterans and educate the children in YMCA programs. Buck Lawler, long-time YMCA member and veteran, will be the featured speaker. There will be light refreshments afterward.
Cary’s Veterans Day Remembrance
Wednesday, November 11, 2015; 11 am-12 pm
Veterans Freedom Park, 1513 N. Harrison Avenue, Cary
The Town of Cary is hosting a patriotic program to honor veterans of all wars and conflicts. Two Cary residents – Dutch native Saskia Leary and Lt. Col. Dianne Jinwright, who is retired from the US Air Force – will both speak at the event. Members of The Old North State Brass Band will perform patriotic music, and refreshments will be served. Bring lawn chairs or blankets.
Post 67 BBQ Dinner
American Legion Post 67 BBQ Dinner
Friday, November 13, 2015; 11 am-6:30 pm
8523 Chapel Hill Road, Cary
Cary’s American Legion is hosting a BBQ dinner to support veterans. $9 per plate includes pork or chicken with potatoes, green beans, bread and a drink.
