Cary, NC — It seems like the warmer it gets the more events we have in Cary – and this weekend is no exception. A much-anticipated Food Truck Rodeo, several spring festivals, Cary’s Road Race and more await you right here in town.

Live at Lunch continues this week with Garth Robertson, a pop/alternative artist. You can see him in front of the Fidelity Bank in downtown Cary between 11:30 am-1 pm. Pack your lunch or pick one up from a downtown restaurant.

Live in the District is another free music series, but this one takes place Thursdays after work at Park West Village. This week, see Bull City Syndicate perform from 6-8:30 pm in front of the movie theater.

Enjoy a five-course dinner at Heron’s, the restaurant inside Cary’s The Umstead hotel, for $95 a person tonight at 6:30 pm.

Live music is obviously popular this time of the year, because it continues Friday night at Fresca Cafe & Gelato at Waverly Place from 6:30-9:30 pm. This event, featuring Flamenco music, will be held the first and third Fridays in April and May.

Stop by Chatham Hill Winery, near downtown Cary, for live music and drinks until 10 pm.

Or, watch as the Cary Players present their opening night performance of The Wizard of Oz. The show starts at 7:30, and tickets are $20 for adults. You can find more information about showtimes and musical-related events in our recent write-up.

Start your day by visiting the Cary Downtown Famers’ Market from 8 am-12:30 pm in front of the Ivey Ellington house.

The Cary Road Race starts at 8:30 am at Booth Amphitheatre. This family event includes a 5K, a 10K and a 1-mile fun run. The course is a challenging route over rolling city street asphalts and around the lake at the venue. You can register early or on race day.

Visit the East Meets West Festival in Morrisville from 11 am-4 pm near Town Hall. There, you can enjoy food and music that celebrates diversity.

The Cary Women’s Club is hosting a Spring Fashion Show Fundraiser benefiting local charities at Christ the King Lutheran Church today from 11 am-2 pm. For $20 per person, enjoy a fun fashion show and lunch with your friends.

On Sunday, visit Cary’s first food truck rodeo of the year – the Chatham Street Chowdown. From noon-4:30 pm, sample food, beer and wine and enjoy live music as you stroll down Chatham Street. Look for a story listing the vendors tomorrow.

If you’re a fan, don’t miss A Night with Janis Joplin on Thursday at DPAC.

CitySocial’s Puppies, Pizza & Pints event is Saturday at The London Bridge Pub in downtown Raleigh. This event, which is from 2:30-5:30 pm, brings dog-lovers together in a fun atmosphere. Tickets are $15 and get attendees beer, pizza, dog bones, a chance to win raffles and more. The event raises money for Cause for Paws, a charity that helps animals.

The Hillsborough Downtown Arts & Crafts Show is this Saturday from 10 am-4 pm at 150 E. King Street. There will be 37 craft vendors, food, beer and ice cream. Let’s hope it’s a beautiful, sunny weekend!
