Update on High-Profile Robbery in Cary

Cary, NC – After the strange break-in by five men on Thursday, June 16, 2016, frequent coverage both in the news and on social media bolstered the case and led to arrests. Because of the attention put on this robbery, here is a follow-up to lay out all the information and updates over the week.

Arrests Made in Cary Robbery

Days after the Thursday, June 16, 2016 break-in, three suspects have been arrested related to the case, including the man police believe forced the victims to drive to the ATM in their car, according to the warrant. Two of the suspects are from Durham and one is from Wendell.

At the time of the crime, the homeowner told police five men entered his home and held him and others in the home at gunpoint while stealing, among other things, jewelry, electronics and handbags. Police still believe five men were involved and are looking for two other suspects in the home invasion.

The three suspects who were arrested first appeared in court in Cary on Monday, June 20, 2016 and will be back in court Monday, July 11, 2016.

The car stolen from the victims was recovered by Durham police when it was found burning early morning on Friday, June 17 at the intersection of Anacosta Street and Dakota Street, according to Durham Police Public Information Officer Kammie Michael.

Cary police are still looking for any information people may have in the case.
