Cary Business Expanding, Adding Jobs
Cary, NC – One of Cary’s many technology-based companies, Relias Learning LLC, is adding on to its business and hiring more than 400 new employees as part of its expansion.
Growth In The Area
Relias Learning is planning to double in size over the next five years and will hire 450 new employees as a part of that expansion. Most of those jobs will be to augment the company’s research and development staff, as well as sales/marketing and administration.
The services provided by Relias Learning include online courses for job training, as well as courses for health care, social work and certification programs. In recent years, Relias has begun to expand its services to the United Kingdom and Germany.
Relias started in 2002 and moved to Cary ten years later.
“We know you could have gone anywhere in the nation and the world, but you decided to call Cary home, and we’re glad for that,” said Cary Mayor Harold Weinbrecht.
All told, the expansion is projected to cost $4.5 million.
Investment in Business
Relias’ expansion comes on the back of a state investment with a Job Development Investment Grant. This $5.3 million grant is predicated on the education company meeting its hiring and investment projections over the next 10-12 years.
The Town of Cary itself also gave Relias $50,000 in tax incentives to stay and expand.
“We are so thrilled to receive this grant that allows us to stay home and build off the incredible presence that we have right here in Wake,” said Mark Belles, chief operating officer for Relias Learning. “We’ll be expanding our product offerings to move into things like mobile applications and analytics. As the health care landscape continues to evolve, we look forward to providing solutions across the changing landscape.”
Currently, Relias has close to 350 employees, many of who are based in Cary.
