Coming Films to the Cary Theater – September
Cary, NC – It’s back to school time so if you need a break from schoolwork, want to celebrate the return to classes or just like seeing good movies, here are some of the films you can see at the Cary Theater this month.
Cinema Studies Series
Every season or so, the Cary Theater runs a series of movies connected in some way for people to study the art and craft of filmmaking. This month, there is a series of political movies to go along with the election time.
Meet John Doe – Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 2 PM
The Candidate – Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 2 PM
Wag The Dog – Sunday, September 25, 2016 to 2 PM
While they aren’t in September, the political film series extends into early October with documentaries “Street Fight” about politics in Newark, New Jersey and “Weiner” about the New York City mayoral campaign of former U.S. Representative Anthony Weiner.
Sophia September
For September, the Cary Theater is showing movies that honor the great classic actress Sophia Loren by showing films featuring her in a variety of roles, ranging from comedy to drama to thriller-action.

Live Shows
The Cary Theater is also a destination for comedians and musicians to perform in town.
Michael Harrison and Ben Jones are stand-up comedians who will be performing. Harrison has performed across North America and got first place in the Hamilton Great Canadian Laugh Off. Jones is an up-and-coming comedian with a dark sense of humor and lots of charisma. They will be at the Cary Theater on Friday, September 16, 2016 at 8 PM. Presented by the Town of Cary.
Celebration of NC Songwriters is a collection of performances by North Carolinian musicians: Dean Driver, Rebekah Todd, Wyatt Easterling, Kirk Ridge and Isabel Taylor. They will be performing on Friday, September 23, 2016 at 8 PM. Presented by Six String.
